Spartanburg Philharmonic has announced its 2026–2027 season, titled ICONIC.

“I’m extremely proud of the previous seasons we've put together,” John Young Shik Concklin, music director said. “But this coming one is my favorite yet.”

The Zimmerli Masterworks Series, performed at Twichell Auditorium, anchors the season with six orchestral programs — each offering a distinct experience.

Across the series, audiences can expect an exploration of spirituality featuring a full choir, a celebration of jazz and blues and a virtuosic showcase featuring a rare Stradivarius violin. The series culminates with a celebration of the music of John Williams, inspired by the 50th anniversary of Star Wars.

Spartanburg Philharmonic’s Espresso Series returns with a wink to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, with each concert representing a distinct chapter of music history. Come early for a pre-concert happy hour with complimentary wine, craft beer and hors d’oeuvres before an intimate one-hour performance.

The Bluegrass Spartanburg Series returns with an all-star lineup. Lonesome River Band kicks things off with their signature traditional sound, followed by a holiday concert with local favorites Wayne & Kristin Scott Benson and Friends. The season continues with The Travelin’ McCourys and concludes with Darrell Scott and Rob Ickes.

Young musicians will also take the stage throughout the season with performances by the Spartanburg Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (SPYO), highlighting the region’s next generation of artists.
