Tenango’s Mexican Restaurant celebrated its grand opening in Duncan with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday.

The new restaurant has three locations in the Carolinas, offering a variety of traditional Mexican dishes. The owners and family members — Juan, Enrique and Aurelio Hernandez — migrated to the United States from Hidalgo, Mexico.

Here, the family lived on a Ranch called “Tenango De Doria,” which was the inspiration behind the restaurant’s name. The Duncan location is the newest addition, featuring a large dining area and a bar.

Tenango’s Mexican Restaurant is located at 1348 E. Main St., Duncan. The restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. To see their menu, visit their website.
