Tenango's Mexican Restaurant celebrated its grand opening in Duncan on Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The restaurant offers traditional Mexican dishes and has three locations in the Carolinas. The Duncan location features a large dining area and a bar, and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Tractor Supply Co. opened a new store in Duncan, celebrating with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The store, which includes a pet wash center, feed center and garden center, brought 21 jobs to the area and is still hiring. The store had its soft opening in late November last year, and the official grand opening was this weekend.

The City of Greer is hosting various holiday events throughout December, including a tree lighting ceremony, Christmas at the Museum, a farmers market Christmas festival, a gingerbread jamboree and a Christmas parade. Outside of Greer, the Towns of Duncan Lyman are hosting their own Christmas parades. The events will feature food vendors, live music, kids' activities and special appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Polling stations across South Carolina will be open for the Nov. 4 General Election, with several municipalities, including Fountain Inn, having competitive races. Voters can check their sample ballot online to see what races they are voting for, and are required to provide a photo ID at the polling location. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

14-year-old McKenzie Silvers has turned her passion for art into a full-fledged business, selling spirit rock paintings, jewelry and other art pieces. Silvers has been creating things since childhood and currently takes honors art at Florence Chapel Middle School. With the support of her family and teachers, Silvers plans to continue to grow her business and gain practical skills for her future career.

A bat found near Main and Spruce streets in Duncan tested positive for rabies on Oct. 6, confirmed by the S.C. Department of Public Health. One dog was exposed and will be quarantined as required in the South Carolina Rabies Control Act. No people were known to be exposed.

Irby Jarrard Watkins was arrested on Sept. 4, 2025, following an investigation by the Greenville County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit (GCMDEU). Over 20 pounds of marijuana and over 500 grams of fentanyl were seized.
