Carolyn Downey Jones, 87, wife of the late Bobby Cleve Jones, passed away August 10, 2026.
A native of Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles Delbert and Phyllis Smith Downey, she was a homemaker and of the Methodist Faith. Over the years Carolyn volunteered for the Girl Scouts, Roper Mountain Farm and Walnut Grove Plantation.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Jones Kilgore and Donna Jones Burgess both of Simpsonville; a brother, Gary Downey of Taylors; two grandchildren, Russell Reed (Lindsey) and Robby Reed (Donna); and seven great-grandchildren, Bryson Reed, Corbin Reed, Hunter Newman, Naomi Reed, Dalton Reed, Maverick Reed, and Gus Reed.
Mrs. Jones was predeceased by a sister, Charlene McMahan.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 13 at Graceland East Memorial Park, conducted by Dr. Keith Kelly.
Visitation will follow after the service at the gravesite.
The family will be at their respective homes.
