Charles Frederick Kramer, 91, husband of the late Nancy Alfreds Kramer, passed away May 2, 2026.
A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John Frederick and Clara Rinck Kramer. As a Penn State alum, Charlie contributed as a mechanical engineer to the textile industry for over 53 years, retiring as the Director of Engineering at Steel Heddle and completing over 30 patents. Early in his career, he also served in the US Army Reserves. After his career at Steel Heddle, for 15 more years, he stayed busy designing jigs and spreading joy to customers while making deliveries for Remark, LLC.
Charlie’s life was a testimony to his Christian faith. Two churches nurtured and supported his walk with the Lord: Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Philadelphia and, since 1971, The Lutheran Church of Our Saviour in Greenville. He served faithfully for 70 years in the choir throughout his life, shared his gifts as a Sunday School Teacher and served on various committees and councils. He will especially be remembered for both his voice and love of singing.
