With heavy hearts and unwavering faith, we announce the passing of Donna Sammons, who peacefully entered her eternal home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Aug. 3, 2026.
Donna was a woman whose life was defined by love, kindness, compassion, and an unwavering faith in God. She had a beautiful way of making everyone feel welcome and loved, and her gentle spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Whether through her warm smile, comforting words, or selfless acts of service, Donna leaves behind a legacy of grace that will continue to inspire those she loved.
Above all, Donna cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, precious daughter, proud grandmother, treasured sister and faithful friend. The love she poured into her family and friends was evident in everything she did and the memories she created will be cherished forever.
Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find peace in knowing that Donna’s faith has become sight. She is now free from pain and reunited with the Savior she loved so deeply. While we grieve, we also rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that we will see her again.
Donna is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Scruggs Grayson of Shelby, North Carolina; husband, Gregory William Sammons of the home; two daughters, Jennifer E. Ussery of Greer, South Carolina and Shelby Louis Lalani (Travis) of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Michael LeNeave (Lynn) and Richard Le Neave (Denise) of Hammond, Indiana; a sister, Katherine Sparks (Alan) of Lawndale, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Autumn and Liam; and a niece, Elizabeth Ann Gordon (Sam).
She was predeceased by her father, Curtis LeNeave.
A receiving of friends will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Aug. 7, 2026, at Lee Road Baptist Church, where family and friends are invited to gather, offer their condolences, and share cherished memories of Donna.
A funeral service celebrating Donna’s life and unwavering faith will follow at noon Aug. 7 at Lee Road Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Matt Bradley and Dr. Brian Pittman. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. All who knew and loved Donna are welcome to attend as together we honor her life, celebrate the love she shared so freely and find comfort in the hope of Christ’s promise of eternal life.
