Emerson Forsythe, 94, passed away July 9, 2026.
A native of Maine, son of the late Percy Harold and Charlotte Chapman Forsythe, he was a retired employee of Bob Jones University.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Libby Forsythe of the home; three sons, Rev. David Forsythe (Sue), Darryl Forsythe (Luci), and Lance Forsythe (Mary); two daughters, Andrea Forsythe and Kathleen Charron (Kenneth); a brother, Larry Forsythe; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Forsythe; twenty-one grandchildren; and thirty-three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Forsythe was predeceased by a son, Stephen Forsythe.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. July 15 at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. David Forsythe with webcasting available. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 12:15-1:15 p.m. July 15 at The Wood Mortuary, 300 West Poinsett Street, Greer, SC 29650.
