Gladys Kathleen Wood Charping, 95, wife of the late James Echols Charping, Sr., passed away June 8, 2026.
A native of Greenville County, South Carolina, daughter of the late Howard Conway and Valcina Ginn Wood, she was a homemaker and a member of Faith Temple.
Surviving are a son, James E. Charping, Jr. of Travelers Rest; two grandchildren, Katlyn Charping and Tracy Trouton; and three great-grandchildren, Joey Trouton, Josh Trouton, and Noel Trouton.
She was predeceased by a son, Jerry Conway Trouton, two brothers, Buddy Wood and James Marion Wood, and two sisters, Helen Gilreath and Dorothy Davis.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
