James Leroy Davis, 84, passed away May 4, 2026.
A native of Taylors, South Carolina, son of the late Charles Davis and Amelia Frances Tate Davis, he was a United States Army Veteran, served in the compacity of the Army Police, retired as an employee of Phillips Fibers, and a member of Faith Temple.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Kelley Davis of the home; two children, Rodney Davis (Theresa) of Easley, South Carolina, Michelle Lindsey of Taylors, South Carolina; a niece, Gail Smith (Phillip) of Greer, South Carolina; a sister, Linda Lynn of Greer, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Chase Kemp, Kyle Jones, Kelsey Hendrick, Devin Davis, and Dylan Davis; and eight great-grandchildren, Parker, Adam, Karis, Raheem, Colt, Riggins, Noah, and Marilynn Grace.
Mr. Davis was predeceased by two brothers, John Davis and Charles Davis; four sisters, Ophelia Ross, Evelyn Brown, Betty Scruggs and Gloria Ross; and two grandchildren, Corbin Lindsey and Davis Lindsey.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. May 8 at Faith Temple conducted by Rev. Raymond Burrows. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m., May 8 at the church.
Pallbearers will be Devin Davis, Kyle Jones, Adam Kemp, Dylan Davis, Chase Kemp, and Brandon Smith.
The family will be at their respective homes.
