John Earl Chumley, 84, passed away August 13, 2026.
A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Thomas Earl and Gladys Odell Pollard Chumley, he was a U.S. Army Veteran, a former supervisor for Draper, a retired employee of Baldor, and of the Christian faith.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Ann Thomas Chumley of the home; a daughter, Kimberly Collins (Michael) of Duncan; a brother, Raymond Lee Chumley of Reidville; two sisters, Barbara Chumley Dunn of Woodruff and Gladys Evelyn Chumley McGahee of Reidville; and three grandchildren, Lincoln Baker, Logan Collins, and Avery Collins.
Mr. Chumley was predeceased by a daughter, Kalyn Chumley Baker.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 16 at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Garold Thomas and Dr. Keith Kelly.
