Johnny A. Simmons, 84, passed away at his home on July 26, 2026. Johnny was the son of Samuel and Mattie Lou Kemp Simmons and the loving husband of the late Barbara Thomas Simmons.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina, Johnny was the youngest of two children. Johnny was a dedicated and hard worker; although he enjoyed retirement from Cryovac (Sealed Air) he didn’t let it slow him down. He took pride in caring for his lawn and maintaining his home. Johnny was of the Baptist faith and a member of Five Forks Baptist Church.
Johnny is survived by his niece, Martha Elkins (Anthony “Tony); and his great niece and nephew, Brooke Elkins and Cade Ledford; as well as other loved cousins, friends and extended family.
A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 6 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
