Larry Dean Oliver, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on October 5, 2026. Larry was the son of the late Yancey “Yank” and Marion Cothran Oliver and the loving husband of Barbara Bradley Oliver.

Larry retired after 33 years with Mitsubishi. He was a hardworking man who loved being outdoors and could often be found enjoying his tractor, working in his garden, fishing, mowing the lawn, or simply finding something outside to keep him busy. His family was his greatest joy and he treasured his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was also blessed with 66 years of marriage to his beloved wife, whose love story began when they met as young children. Their lifelong love was a beautiful testament to the bond they shared. Larry also had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for being funny and witty with a personality and ability to make anyone laugh.

His faith was an important part of his life. Larry was a member of Washington Baptist Church and a driver for the Christian Learning Center. He loved driving the youth, talking with them about Jesus and sharing a joke or two. The children loved him just as much in return, and the relationships he built with them were very special to him. Larry lived a life centered around faith, family, hard work, laughter, and service to others. His legacy will live on through the many generations of his family and through all the lives he touched along the way.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Autumn Golob (Daniel); grandchildren, Michael Oliver, Josh Oliver, Nicole Oliver, Kayla Oliver, Amanda Lyko (Josh), Eli Golob, Micah Golob, Kenna Golob, Tabitha Brown, David Edmonds, and Melissa Gwinn; great grandchildren, Brianna, Maddison, Austin (Tiffany), Chyann, Bobbie, Bella, Kaydon, Michael, Nathan, Gage, and Chris; great-great grandchildren, London Lyko and Grayson; adopted grandson, AJ; siblings, James Oliver (Marilyn); daughters-in-law, Melanie Hood and Pamela Oliver; brothers-in-law, Wilton Bradley, Gerald Bradley, and Ricky Bradley; and many other beloved nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Larry is preceded in death by his children, Larry David Oliver and Bobby Dean Oliver; great grandchildren, Emma Lyko and Mason Foster; brother, Roy Oliver (Linda); and sisters, Janie Lucille Oliver and Peggy Jean Oliver.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 9 at Washington Baptist Church. A celebration of life will begin at 4 p.m. Interment will immediately follow in Washington Baptist Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry’s honor to Washington Baptist Church or The Christian Learning Center.
