Lori Bates, 67, of Moore, South Carolina, passed away peacefully August 14, 2026.
A native of Bossier City, Louisiana, daughter of the late Dwain Michael Barger and Virginia Lee Richards Barger, she was a U.S. Army veteran, received a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University, was a Registered Nurse and of the Christian faith.
Surviving are her husband, Steve Bates of the home and one brother, Steven Dale Barger (Sandra). Lori also leaves behind a legacy of numerous beloved family members and cherished friends.
She was also predeceased by one brother, Michael Dwain Barger and one sister, Teri Masu.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Aug. 22 at The Wood Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Rev. Danny Wiley, with Nurses Honors. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park with Military Honors.
Visitation will be held from 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. Aug. 22, 2026, at The Wood Mortuary prior to the service.
