Phyllis Jean Clough Mills, 99, passed away peacefully at her home on July 10, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Leroy and Ida Dux Clough.
An avid gardener, Phyllis found joy in nurturing flowers and plants, creating beauty wherever she lived. She was an active member of the Cookhill Homemakers and the Wallingford Jr. Women's Club, where she formed lasting friendships and generously gave her time to community activities. As a dedicated Girl Scout leader, she inspired and mentored generations of young girls, encouraging confidence, leadership, and a spirit of service.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Sharyn M. Girardi, Karyn M. Khare and Robert “Bob” J. Mills; her grandchildren, Kimberly A. Lane, Stephanie St. Michel, and Margaret E. Bowers (Donnie); 3 great grandchildren; and 8 great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey D. Mills; brothers, L. Bradley Clough and Richard D. Clough; and her partner, Clinton G. Gorman
