Ruthel Cudd Godfrey, 95, wife of the late Alvin Madison Godfrey, passed away April 30, 2026.
A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Weldon E. and Virgie Smith Cudd, she was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening and always had a flower and vegetable garden. She was a member of Woods Chapel Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years in the children’s department and was very involved in Cub Scouts.
Surviving is a son, Barry Godfrey and a sister, Betty Kelley.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Jennings Cudd, Bennett Cudd, and Billy Cudd, Sr., and four sisters, Gaynelle Miller, Aileen McClimon, Mae Jones Hughes and Joan Cudd.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. May 5 at Woods Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Tim Huckaby.
The family would like to thank Ida Crittenden for her loving care over the years.
