Warren “Ward” Robert Bray, Jr., 76, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, after a short illness. He was the son of the late Major Warren Robert Bray, Sr. (USMC, Ret.) and the late Elsie Hornak Bray.

He worked as an administrator for the U.S. DOJ, both in Washington, D.C. and Miami, Florida. He retired to Pawleys Island, South Carolina and became an avid fisherman of Red Drum.

He started golfing as a teenager in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and continued golf throughout his life, playing many notable courses in the continental U.S., Hawaii, Ireland, and Scotland. He loved to cruise the Caribbean and enjoyed each ship’s casino. Warren was known by his friends as a walking encyclopedia of sports information.

Survived by his wife of 51 years, Ann Martin Bray of Greer, South Carolina; two brothers, David Alan Bray (Sue Ann, deceased) of Winchester, Virginia and Robin Michael Bray (Susan, deceased) of Mint Hill, North Carolina; and two nephews, Daniel Robin Bray (Kirsten) of Ridgewood, New Jersey and John Paul Bray of Mint Hill, North Carolina.
