The Greer Jean M. Smith Library Branch in Greenville County is hosting a community archiving event to preserve local history. Residents can bring photos, maps, letters, yearbooks, newspapers and other scannable objects to be scanned and uploaded to the library system's digital archive. The event is part of the library's larger push to preserve and honor local history in Greer. The library system's digital archive currently has over 30,000 items, and the library continues to build it up through community archiving events.
