Dunlap Media Group is hosting a ribbon-cutting event for GreerNews.com, its third outlet, which includes daily news, sports, crime reports, obituaries, photo galleries, a local events calendar, and lifestyle coverage. The event will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, outside the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce on Trade Street. The event is free to the public, and attendees are asked to arrive at 9:45 a.m. GreerNews.com went live on Monday, Aug. 4.

Breanna Laws, a recent graduate from Wake Forest University, has joined GreerNews.com as a local news writer. Originally from Roaring River, North Carolina, Laws moved to Greer this summer and is excited to learn more about her new home through her reporting. She believes that journalism is a community-building exercise and hopes to use her work to build a stronger, more connected Greer. Laws is also a horror movie buff and jellyfish enthusiast, and can be reached for story ideas, news leads, or comments.
