The Greer Commission of Public Works (CPW) has warned residents of a scam involving door-to-door salespeople claiming to represent Greer CPW. The scammers claim to be from "Duke's Net Metering Program" or "Greer CPW's Net Metering Program" and that electric rates have gone up by 14%. Greer CPW clarified that it does not have any door-to-door salespeople selling solar, and any contractor working for Greer CPW will be in clearly marked, highly visible vehicles and will have clothing representing their companies. Greer CPW customers can expect to see company employees during normal business hours, unless there is an emergency.
