The Spartanburg Philharmonic has been awarded a $35,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support violinist Vijay Gupta's performances and public speaking engagements, which aim to raise awareness about homelessness and celebrate American history. The funding will be used for the "Festival of American Voices" program, which includes concerts and community programming throughout 2026, culminating in a full orchestra concert featuring Gupta as a soloist. The program aims to explore themes of America as a place of refuge and will also include educational programs and partnerships.
