Two Greer-area football players will be representing their programs at postseason all-star games this year.
Byrnes star defensive end Justice Hopkins was announced as a selection for the 2025 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas on Sunday. Hopkins has already racked up seven sacks on the season for the Rebels and has attention from several local universities.
The Shrine Bowl will be held on Dec. 20 at Spartanburg High School.
Blue Ridge star quarterback Gavin Forrester, fresh off a six-touchdown performance in a Tiger win over Landrum Friday night, was announced earlier this week as a selection for the 2025 Touchstone Energy North-South Bowl.
Forrester is already closing in on 1200 total yards on the season for Blue Ridge, and as of week five, has accounted for 16 total touchdowns.
The Touchstone Energy North-South Bowl will be held on Dec. 13 at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach.
