Former Greer standout and NFL player Troy Pride, Jr. is hosting his sixth-annual TPJ Day of Play at Dooley Field on Saturday, June 6.
In addition to the opportunity for kids to improve their football skills under the guidance of Troy and several others, there will be a DJ, bounce house, presentations, prizes and giveaways.
"This camp is my whole heart, it's a passion of mine," said Pride. "These kids are going to feel the love and intention. We've got some great people helping out, including some Greer High grads, so it's going to be a lot of energy and a lot of fun."
Pride, who played college football at Notre Dame and spent time in the NFL with the Panthers and Saints, says the idea for TPJ Day of Play began when he was with the Fighting Irish.
"I had the opportunity to work several kids camps while I was at Notre Dame, and that kind of motivated me to do something like that back home," said Pride. "I learned to give back and uplift the next generation.
"You want to be a beacon of light. That's what I'm hoping to be for these kids and this community."
TPJ Day of Play will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, June 6.
Admission is free, and no advance registration is required. For more information, visit Team Pride Enterprises on Instagram or TPJDayofPlay6.eventbrite.com.
