LADY TIGERS BOUNCE BACK FROM FIRST LOSS

Blue Ridge girls basketball suffered its first loss of the season on Dec. 20, falling to Atlantic Collegiate Academy at a non-region tournament. The LadyTigers responded, however, by rattling off back-to-back wins to close the tournament — over Hanahan and Hampton County — to improve to 10-1 on the season.

RIVERSIDE COMES UP JUST SHORT VS. GREENVILLE

Riverside boys basketball competed in the Poinsettia Classic at Greenville High School before Christmas, defeating top-5 ranked Sumter, 67-62, before falling to No. 1 Greenville, 68-65.

EASTSIDE WINS SILVER BRACKET TITLE AT POINSETTIA CLASSIC

Eastside boys basketball also competed in the Poinsettia Classic at Greenville High School before Christmas, defeating Powdersville and Legacy Early College to win the Silver Bracket championship at the tournament.

BLUE RIDGE FALLS TO LIBERTY, DOMINATES GILBERT 

Blue Ridge boys basketball competed in the Bronze Bracket of the Poinsettia Classic at Greenville High School, falling to Liberty before earning a dominant 80-34 win over Gilbert to close the tournament.

BYRNES STAYS UNBEATEN WITH TWO ROUTS OVER NC TEAMS

Byrnes girls' basketball continued a dominant start to the season, going unbeaten at a pre-Christmas tournament in Rock Hill. The Lady Rebels defeated two North Carolina teams — Chambers and Butler — to stay perfect on the year and improve to 10-0 on the season. 

FOWLER, SINGH LEAD BYRNES TO OPENING WIN AT LEXINGTON ROUNDBALL CLASSIC

Byrnes boys basketball kicked off the Lexington Roundball Classic with a 74-62 win over Horse Creek Academy, the No. 1-ranked team in 1-A. Colt Fowler finished with a triple-double (18 points, 16 assists, 11 rebounds) in the win, while Sukhi Singh added 24 points. 

GREER SPLITS PAIR OF PRE-CHRISTMAS GAMES 

Greer girls basketball added a nice win over Southside at the She Got Next Tournament before Christmas before falling to West Oak, 65-44.
