With just one more month left in 2026, the City of Greer is gearing up for a season of holiday cheer.
From parades to vendor markets to gingerbread house competitions, there’s something for everyone this holiday season. Here’s a look at some of the events happening in and around Greer throughout December.
Events in Greer
Tree Lighting Ceremony
Where: Greer City Park
When: Friday, Dec. 5, from 5-8 p.m.
The Greer Christmas Tree Lighting is an annual town tradition featuring craft stations, carolers, food vendors and more. The event concludes with a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus, who light the tree alongside City Mayor Rick Danner.
Christmas at the Museum
Where: Greer Heritage Museum
When: Saturday, Dec. 6, with two sessions at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Greer Heritage Museum will host its annual Christmas event honoring the history of the holiday in town. Tickets are free and available to reserve in advance online.
There are two time slots to choose from on Saturday, and attendees are encouraged to stay after the event for holiday treats and a free photo in the museum’s professional photo studio. Attendees are also asked to bring canned and dry food donations to benefit Greer Relief.
Greer Farmers Market Christmas Festival
Where: Greer City Park
When: Dec. 6 and 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A two-day festival, the Greer Farmers Market’s annual event will feature over 65 local vendors, food trucks, live music and kids’ activities.
Gingerbread Jamboree
Where: Greer Center for the Arts
When: Viewing hours for gingerbread houses are on Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The City of Greer Center for the Arts is hosting its annual gingerbread house competition with submissions in adult, student, family and team divisions. The official competition day is Dec. 9, though submissions have closed. The entries will be on display for the public from Dec. 6-16 during regular gallery hours.
Greer Relief Christmas Parade
Where: Poinsett Street, Greer
When: Sunday, Dec. 7, 2:30 p.m.
The Greer Christmas Parade begins at Poinsett Street and Memorial Drive, ending at N. Main Street & Cunningham Drive. Residents have the option of spectating the parade, volunteering or participating. Businesses and individuals can also sponsor the event.

Events Outside of Town
Town of Duncan Christmas Parade
Where: Downtown Duncan
When: Friday, Dec. 6, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The Town of Duncan is hosting its first-ever “Light Up The Night Christmas Parade” on Friday evening. Following the parade, attendees can go to Duncan Town Hall for the Christmas tree lighting, train rides, Christmas caroling and a visit from Santa.
Free hot chocolate will be served in the parking lot at Duncan First Baptist Church, 103 E. Main St., and free Christmas gift wrapping will be held inside the gym at Duncan Methodist Church, 139 W. Main St. For questions regarding the event, email events@townofduncansc.com.
Town of Lyman Christmas Parade
Where: Downtown Lyman
When: Saturday, Dec. 13, 5 p.m.
The Town of Lyman is hosting its annual Christmas Parade, beginning and ending in the Old Mill parking lot. Residents can spectate or sign up to be in the parade. There is no entry fee to participate. For more information, email jwest@lymansc.gov.
