Blue Ridge High School’s Jakorey Dodd is the GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week, presented by D&D Motors.
Voting opened Monday and remained open until noon on Wednesday. Voters were able to cast a ballot once per day during the campaign.
Nominees for the week of August 25-31 included Dodd, Damiah Polk of Greer, and Peyton Schrader of Eastside.
“That first win is huge,” said Dodd. “It’s big for our team, and for me personally, I’m trying to step things up. I know as a team, we are too. So to get started the right way is big for us.”
The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week is a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2025-2026 school year. Athletes from Greer, Byrnes, Riverside, Eastside, Greer Middle College, and Blue Ridge are eligible.
