Blue Ridge High School’s Kim Espinal is the GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week, presented by D&D Motors.

Voting opened Monday and remained open until noon on Wednesday. Voters were able to cast a ballot once per day during the campaign.

Espinal, who is just a sophomore, is in her first year wrestling. Espinal has improved steadily throughout the season, and this weekend, she won the Heart of the Tiger team award at the Hendersonville Bearcat Invitational.

Nominees for the week of Dec. 28-Jan. 4 included Espinal, Huck Flinn of Riverside, and Blake Walter of Byrnes. 

The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week is a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2025-2026 school year. Athletes from Greer, Byrnes, Riverside, Eastside, Greer Middle College, and Blue Ridge are eligible.
