Blue Ridge High School’s Alex Munguia is the GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week, presented by D&D Motors.

Voting opened Monday and remained open until 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Voters were able to cast a ballot once per day during the campaign.

Munguia set the all-time meet record at the Chick-Fil-A Games in the 100m, taking first place with a time of 10.74 in a tremendous day for Blue Ridge track-and-field.

Nominees for the week of March 2-8 included Munguia, Keyshaun Foster of Greer, Kaitlyn Rogers of Riverside, and Lyric Owen of Byrnes. 

The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week is a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2025-2026 school year. Athletes from Greer, Byrnes, Riverside, Eastside, Greer Middle College, and Blue Ridge are eligible.
