Greer High School’s Sophia Petrillo is the GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week, presented by D&D Motors.
Voting opened Monday and remained open until noon on Wednesday. Voters were able to cast a ballot once per day during the campaign.
Nominees for the week of Sept. 1-7 included Petrillo, Gavin Forrester of Blue Ridge, Aiden Crump of Blue Ridge, and McKenley Noble of Riverside.
The GreerNews.com Athlete of the Week is a weekly initiative that will run 32 weeks during the 2025-2026 school year. Athletes from Greer, Byrnes, Riverside, Eastside, Greer Middle College, and Blue Ridge are eligible.
