The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Rendell Rashad Berry, 39, of Greer, with Criminal Conspiracy and Furnishing Contraband to an Inmate at a County Jail on Thursday, September 4.
On that day, SLED also charged Shamaurie Nathaniel Olijahwan Mushande Robinson, 26, of Greenville, with Criminal Conspiracy and Possession of Contraband Inside a County Jail. Robinson is currently imprisoned on multiple charges including murder and armed robbery.Â
The Greenville County Detention Center requested the SLED investigation.
According to warrants, Berry, a detention center officer, provided Robinson with a vape device in return for $50 while Robinson was inside the Greenville County Detention Center. Â Â
Both Berry and Robinson were booked into the Greenville County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office.
