The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Rendell Rashad Berry, 39, of Greer, with Criminal Conspiracy and Furnishing Contraband to an Inmate at a County Jail on Thursday, September 4.

On that day, SLED also charged Shamaurie Nathaniel Olijahwan Mushande Robinson, 26, of Greenville, with Criminal Conspiracy and Possession of Contraband Inside a County Jail. Robinson is currently imprisoned on multiple charges including murder and armed robbery. 

The Greenville County Detention Center requested the SLED investigation.

According to warrants, Berry, a detention center officer, provided Robinson with a vape device in return for $50 while Robinson was inside the Greenville County Detention Center.   

Both Berry and Robinson were booked into the Greenville County Detention Center.

The case will be prosecuted by the 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office.
