The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has announced the manner of death for the 55-year-old female found near 316 Novelty Drive in Greer, ruling it a suicide.
Deputies were called out around 3:30 p.m. to assist the Greer Police Department in a search for Rebecca Beets, a missing woman who was a resident of 316 Novelty Drive. During the search, GCSO drone pilots were able to locate Beets in a wooded area nearby. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Coroner’s Office.
This incident was investigated by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, in conjunction with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and the Greer Police Department. The Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy on Tuesday, Jan. 6, which determined that the cause of death was a gunshot wound, and the manner of death was a suicide.
