Chicken Salad Chick Opening.jpeg

Chicken Salad Chick celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday, April 7, awarding free chicken salad to the first 100 guests and kicking off a week of opening celebrations.

Chicken Salad Chick is an Alabama-founded chain that serves Southern-style chicken salad, soups, sandwiches and more. The new Duncan location is one of more than 20 in the Upstate, led by local franchisee Sing Bev Hospitality.

According to city officials in Duncan, the first guest in line arrived at 1 a.m. on Tuesday to save their spot in line — nine hours before doors opened. The first 100 guests won a free large Quick Chick once a week for one year, and many other patrons got to take advantage of deals throughout the week.

Duncan Mayor Shirley Clopton read a proclamation welcoming Chicken Salad Chick into the town at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. As part of pre-opening events, the restaurant also raised funds for the American Cancer Society of South Carolina.

The Duncan location still has one more day of opening festivities for its customers. On Saturday, April 11, the first 50 guests to order an entree with two sides will receive a commemorative cup. Guests must be 16 years old or older to participate in giveaways, and it is limited to one reward per guest.
