GreerNews.com launched a new sports podcast, "High School Heroes," in September bringing listeners inside the game and into the conversations shaping high school sports in our area.
The second episode features Eastside head football coach Andre Woolcock.
Woolcock joins Trey Stewart and Joel FitzPatrick to share the story of how a graduate assistant opportunity at North Greenville unexpectedly started his coaching career.
He also opens up about his faith, the criticism that comes with being a head coach, the people who helped him through his toughest seasons and why he believes character and academics can open just as many doors for young athletes as talent.
The podcast will be hosted by Fitzpatrick, former sports editor of the Greer Citizen newspaper, with help from Stewart, regional sports editor for GreerNews.com.
Listeners will be able to watch and listen to "High School Heroes" on the GreerNews.com Facebook page, YouTube channel and all major podcast platforms.
