Greer’s largest event of the year returns this weekend in celebration of the United States’ 250th birthday.

The 2026 Freedom Blast will take over Greer City Park and surrounding downtown streets on Saturday, June 27. The free event begins at 6 p.m., featuring skydivers, a military tribute, a rib-eating contest and, of course, fireworks.

This year’s event has several new additions, including a laser show over Greer City Hall after dark. The fireworks will be shot from a new location this year, and officials say the show should be even bigger than in years prior.

“Freedom Blast is a cherished tradition in the Greer community, but this year’s event carries special meaning as we celebrate the city’s sesquicentennial and America’s 250th birthday,” said Greer Mayor Rick Danner. “This family-friendly festival is packed with activities and entertainment, but at its core, it’s a tribute to the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to keep us safe and make it possible for us to enjoy a night of celebration in the park with our families and neighbors.”

The event will begin with a skydiving flag show in Greer City Park, followed by the 6:30 p.m. military tribute. Upstate-based emcee JDew will serve as the master of ceremonies throughout the evening, and there will be several live music acts for attendees to enjoy.

The festival and parking are all free, but guests can pay $5 for access to a Kids Zone with amusement rides. There will also be food, drinks and merchandise available for purchase throughout the event.

Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. and will be shot over the Greer City Park pond. The best place to view them will be the City Park lawn. For more information on the schedule of events, visit FreedomBlast.org.
