The Greer Farmers Market will highlight local organizations and community resources during its Community Resources Day this Sunday.
Community Resources Day will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, at Greer City Park. In addition to the market’s typical vendors and activities, several local nonprofits will have informational booths and activities for attendees.
“Our market is one of many nonprofits in Greer working to bring access to more resources to our community,” said Maggie Blair, Greer Farmers Market President. “We work hard to ensure that produce is accessible to all, and that no one is left out of enjoying the health benefits of local, farm-to-table produce … [and] we also work with other nonprofits to help bring awareness to their resources as well.”
Here’s what attendees can expect:
The Children’s Museum of the Upstate will host kids’ activities and provide information about upcoming events at the museum.
Spartanburg County Pet Resource Center will bring adoptable dogs and puppies, a kids’ coloring table and free swag.
New Horizon Family Health Services will host giveaways during the event, as well as give kids a mini sunflower grow kit to decorate.
OneBlood will bring its Big Red Bus for a community blood drive.
Bridget Brennan, a board-certified music therapist and performer from Greenville, will perform live.
