One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Hwy. 253 at East Mountain Creek Church Road just after 9:00am on Friday morning, according to SC Highway Patrol (SCHP) Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway.
A 2002 Chevrolet pickup was traveling south on Hwy. 253, when they ran off the left side of the road, striking a tree and catching fire, said Ridgeway.
The driver of the pickup was the sole occupant in the vehicle and died at the scene, said Ridgeway. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Michael Ray Rogers, 65, of Greenville.Â
This incident is under investigation by the SCHP.
