Spartanburg Community College has partnered with the Knights of Columbus Council #6076 to honor local veterans with a special banner display across its Spartanburg Campus.
The banners, featuring the names and images of veterans from the Upstate community, are hung across campus in recognition of their service and sacrifice. The college says that these banners will remain up through the end of November.
“We are deeply honored to be celebrating the bravery and dedication of our veterans,” said Dr. Michael Mikota, President of Spartanburg Community College. “These banners serve as a visible reminder to our students and community of the sacrifices made by the men and women who served our nation.”
The Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal organization with a history of supporting veterans and military families, spearheaded the effort to create and provide the banners. Officials from the college say they hope the banners inspire reflection, gratitude and continued support for veterans throughout the region.
