Spartanburg Community College has launched a new one-year cosmetology program at its Tyger River Campus, featuring a modern salon-style floor and instructional labs. The program has 36 enrolled students and offers comprehensive training in hair design, skincare and nail technology, with the opportunity to work directly with clients in the college's on-campus clinic. The program has partnered with Salon Centric, a Florida-based company owned by L'Oréal, for its salon-grade products. The college hopes to enroll 20 new students each semester.

Spartanburg Community College has announced the Dean's List recipients for the Fall 2025 semester, with 18 students from Greer, 20 from Lyman and 24 from Duncan being recognized for their academic excellence. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher with no course grade lower than a "C." William Brothers has been appointed Chief Academic Advisor of Spartanburg Community College, according to an Oct. 13 release from the college. Brothers brings more than 15 years of higher education leadership experience to the role. Most recently, he served as Dean for the School of Engineering Technology and Professional Studies at Greenville Technical College.

Spartanburg Community College honors local veterans with a special banner display across its Spartanburg Campus. The project is a partnership between the college and the Knights of Columbus Council #6076. The banners will remain hung through the end of November.
