The Greer Police Department has arrested a woman in connection with an arson investigation involving Greer Diner.
On Sunday afternoon, the Greer Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the diner, located at 409 Trade Street in Greer. After the fire was brought under control, investigators determined that it had been intentionally set and requested assistance from the Greer Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
Following an investigation, officials with the Greer Police Department say that Catherine Lee Gale Emrich, 37, was identified as the suspect. Emrich was taken into custody earlier today by the Greer Police Department and charged with Arson.
Following her arraignment this afternoon, Emrich was ordered held without bond and remains in custody. Officials say the investigation remains active, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Greer Police Department at (864) 848-2151.
