The Greer Police Department has arrested a woman in connection with an arson investigation involving Greer Diner.
Pamela Booke Schronce, owner of the Thomas and Turner Boutique in Belton, has been arrested for the third time on charges related to her business. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office received two separate reports from victims who made purchases for which they never received the merchandise or a refund. Schronce was arrested on two counts of Obtaining Property Under False Pretenses and has been released after posting bond. Similar cases are currently under investigation throughout the Upstate.
Robert Chase Langley was arrested for attempting to stab another individual with a knife during a heated verbal exchange on Christmas morning in Greer. Greer Police has charged Langley with Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature, and he is currently being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Facility on a $15,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing.
Brian Thompson, the assistant principal at Beech Springs Middle School in Duncan, has been charged with failure to report child abuse/neglect. According to reports, Thompson was informed of an incident involving two juveniles in October and neglected to report it to police. He turned himself in on Monday, Dec. 8, and was released the following day on bond. He is set to return to court in early 2026. The incident is currently being investigated by the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.
Angel Marie Willis, 19, and Jorge Armando Cano Jr., 24, have been charged in connection with a Woodruff shooting incident that left one dead. Deputies at the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office say that this is an ongoing investigation.
The Greenville County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit arrested three individuals on a variety of drug charges. Kaleb J. Merritt, 29, was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine 400g or more. Bryan A. Rios Flores, 24, was charged with Trafficking Cocaine 400g or more. Gerardo Magana Mora, 27, was charged with Trafficking Cocaine 400g or more.
Irby Jarrard Watkins was arrested on Sept. 4, 2025, following an investigation by the Greenville County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit (GCMDEU). Over 20 pounds of marijuana and over 500 grams of fentanyl were seized.
Preston Young and Branna Moore have been arrested following an investigation by the Spartanburg County Narcotics Unit. Moore’s residence, according to the Sheriff’s Office, served as the hub for Young’s drug distribution.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 50-year-old Kerry Don Penwell following an investigation into fraudulent construction practices. Penwell, owner of Kasted Design Group, allegedly accepted more than $260,000 from a residential construction company to complete electrical work on multiple projects, but has only completed approximately $15,000 worth of work since May 2024. Additionally, investigators discovered that Kasted Design Group was not licensed to perform electrical work, only holding a license to install burglary alarms. Penwell was charged with Breach of Trust and Unlawful Practice of a Regulated Profession.
An Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation conducted by the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of Theron Robert Littlefield of Lyman. Littlefield is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution in Delaware as a Fugitive from Justice, pending extradition to South Carolina.
