Amy Ann McClanahan entered her eternal home on June 28, 2026.
She was born in Painesville, Ohio, to the late Donald and Helen Crawford on April 13, 1958. She attended Madison High School, where she participated in band and other extracurricular activities. Amy had many hobbies including crafting, reading and sewing as well as taking care of her horse, Jenny. She loved spending time with her family at Crawford Nursery.
A lover of music and the written word, Amy attended Bob Jones University to study music education and English. After graduation, she moved to Oregon to teach at Salem Christian Academy for several years. She then moved to West Virginia to serve at Cross Lanes Christian School, where she taught for most of her career. Amy loved her students and considered it a joy to teach both music and English. Before retiring, she also worked as policy coordinator for the WV Bureau for Medical Services for over seven years.
Amy was consistently involved in her local church and served on several community boards. She is remembered by many for her kind, generous nature and her love for the Lord. She will be dearly missed by her family and others whose lives she quietly blessed throughout her years.
Amy is survived by her daughter, Kristin Kowalk (Mike); her brothers, Dirk Crawford (Susan) and Dale Crawford (Lisa); her sisters, Sally Cuthrell and Becky Dewley (Ray); and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Don and Helen Crawford; her nephew, Timothy Crawford; and her niece, Maria Cuthrell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. July 2 at Trinity Bible Church conducted by Rev. Greg Mazak. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
