Beverly Jean Pruitt, 71, passed away at her home on March 21, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Ferrell Shaffer.

Beverly was a dedicated stay-at-home mother who poured her heart into caring for her family, creating a home filled with warmth, comfort and unconditional love. She was an avid hockey fan and a loyal supporter of the New York Rangers. Her favorite player, number 93, affectionately nicknamed “Hair”, always had a special place in her heart. When she wasn’t cheering on her team, she could often be found enjoying one of her favorite movies, Jaws or any film featuring sharks. She also had a passion for thrift shopping, always on the lookout for hidden treasures and great finds. But above all else, Beverly cherished her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly her world and she found her greatest joy in spending time with them and watching them grow.

She is survived by her children, Kimberly Pruitt-Hamby, Amy Thorpe (Ron), and Terry Lee Pruitt (Harley); grandchildren, Eli Pruitt, Isaac Pruitt, Rane Testerman (Matthew), Cale Kirschner, Carly Paredes and Zeke Paredes; great grandchildren, Luther Testerman, Callum Testerman, and Raven Testerman; siblings, Samuel Shaffer Jr. (Marilyn) and Linda Holloway; nieces and nephews, Michael Shaffer (Nancee), Lisa Hickum (Tim) Timothy Holloway, and Wendy Heath; great nieces and nephews, Taylor Hickum, Joshua Hickum, Asten Hickey, and Caleb Hickum; mother-in-law, Patrice Pruitt; and daughter-in-love, Alicia Haley.

Beverly is preceded in death by her sister, Connie Shaffer; brother, Roger Allen Shaffer; special cousin, Roger Ferrell; granddaughter, Alexandria Pruitt; and great granddaughter, Mae Lee Testerman; as well as her son-in-law, Sky Hamby.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m. March 27 at Living Waters Funeral Home with a celebration of life beginning at 1:30 p.m. Interment will immediately follow at Glassy Mountain Baptist Church. Pastor Roger Ray will officiate. Pallbearers will be Timothy Holloway, AJ Plumblee, Jordan Gwinn, Lex Dove, Cody Giles, and Eric Pruitt.
