Billy Herman “Whiz” White, 82, passed away May 29, 2026.
A lifelong resident of Greer, South Carolina, son of the late James Robert “Bob” and Lettie Center White, he was a retired automobile salesman, served in the Army National Guard and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. Whiz was a proud graduate of Greer High School and Furman University, having also played baseball at North Greenville College. He was a devoted husband and family man, who upheld the importance of family and friends, and loved fishing, golfing and picking and grinning.
Surviving are his wife, Laura Kearney White of the home; a daughter, Carolyn White Nelson (Karl) of Asheville, North Carolina; a son, Dr. Cory R. White (Mandi) of Greer, South Carolina; a brother, Danny White (Carey) of Taylors, South Carolina; and nine grandchildren, Ryan Siepert (Cassandra), Katie Costache Hudgens (Chris), Christina Costache, Bela Costache, Nick Costache, Roan Nelson, Ava Nelson, Rafe White, and Stella Ross White; and a special nephew, Zachary White.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. May 31 at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. David Smith.
Visitation will be held from noon to 1:45 p.m. May 31 at The Wood Mortuary.
