Jerry George Buchmiller, 87, passed away June 14, 2026.
A native of Aurora, Illinois, son of the late Walter Joseph and Elma Andersen Buchmiller. He worked various occupations throughout his life, was a former prison ministry chaplain for many years, and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Barbara J. Stewart Buchmiller of the home; a son, Walter Buchmiller (Cindy) of Camden, South Carolina; a daughter, Dawn Pennoyer of Taylors, South Carolina; a sister, Janet Staten of Florida; three grandchildren, Courtney Pennoyer of Charlotte, Katey Hancock of Camden, South Carolina, and James Rabon of Camden, South Carolina; and four great-grandchildren, William Kal Harris IV, William Fields Hancock, Benjamin Rabon, and Elizabeth Rabon.
Mr. Buchmiller was predeceased by a son-in-law, Paul Pennoyer and a brother, Robert Buchmiller.
A private service for the family will be held.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. June 19 at The Wood Mortuary.
He has fought a good fight, he has finished his course, and now he is in the Saviors hands eternally in Heaven.
