Marvin JC Thompson, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Nov. 16, 2025.
A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Tome Richard “T.R.” and Leila Bradley Thompson, he was a retired carpenter and attended Brushy Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Alice Satterfield Thompson of the home; two children, Teresa Lamb (Eric) and Derrick Thompson (Allison) both of Greer; five grandchildren, Kristen Wyatt (Robert), Justin Lamb, Jared Lamb (Anna), Elsie Thompson, and Sadie Thompson; three great-grandchildren, Hudson Wyatt, Mavery Wyatt, and Isabel Lamb; and many loving family members and special friends who cared for Mr. Thompson.
Mr. Thompson was predeceased by five brothers, Thomas “Earl” Thompson, Broadus Thompson, Beaufort Thompson, Howard Seay, and William “Bill” Seay; and three sisters, Clara Bradley, Beulah Bradley, and Irene Cooper.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, at Brushy Creek Baptist Church conducted by Pastor David Kay.
Visitation will be held 10-10:45 a.m., Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, at the church.
