Mary Ann Sweet Bruce, 87, wife of the late Jack Brockman Bruce, passed away September 9, 2026.

A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late George Rector and Sadie Simpson Sweet, she was a homemaker and a member of Pebble Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are four children, Ronnie Bruce (Margaret) of Taylors, Cindy Mace (Jeff) of Taylors, Denice Bruce of Boone, North Carolina, and Sammy Bruce (Danita) of Simpsonville; five grandchildren, Elizabeth McCoy (Ryan), Ashleigh Bruce, Emily Sargent (Brandon), Mandy Reames (Scott), and Bradley Altenhofen; and seven great-grandchildren, Meadow McCoy, Elliot McCoy, Noelan Sargent, Benjamin Sargent, Chandlers Reames, Hailey Reames, and Blake Reames.

Mrs. Bruce was predeceased by four siblings and a granddaughter, Heather Bruce.

Pallbearers will be Ryan McCoy, Scott Reames, Brandon Sargent, Bradley Altenhofen, Steve Bruce, and Ray Bruce.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 13 at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Mark Bordeaux and Mr. Jeff Mace. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 12 at The Wood Mortuary.
