The Reverend Dr. Donald Frank Heinrich, age 90, of Greer, South Carolina, was ushered into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on June 23, 2026. For more than seventy years, he faithfully served the Lord, preaching God's Word and sharing the Gospel.
Don was born on Oct. 3, 1935, to the late August and Elmira (Staufenberger) Heinrich in Irvington, NJ. As a high school junior at Irvington High School in 1952, he received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour as a result of the faithful witness and testimony of his physics teacher, Mr. Ray Ward. Following his salvation, Don dedicated his life to Christian ministry and remained steadfast in his commitment to biblical truth. He graduated from Bob Jones University in 1958, where he prepared for the work God had called him to do.
On Jan. 24, 1959, he married the love of his life, Judith Arnold, his faithful wife. Together they served the Lord and touched many lives through their love, compassion and dedication to Christ.
In 1988, Bob Jones University recognized his ministry and commitment to biblical truth by awarding him an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree.
He devoted his life to preaching the Gospel and shepherding God's people. He pastored churches in Wilmington, DE; Essington, PA; Morrisville, PA; Netcong, NJ; Flanders, NJ; and Travelers Rest, SC. He served as a member of the board of Gospel Fellowship Association Missions, Greenville, SC. He led numerous trips to the Holy Land.
He will be remembered for his passionate love for Christ, his devotion to Scripture, his servant's heart and his steadfast commitment to the truth of God's Word. His knowledge and memory of Scripture were remarkable and he delighted in sharing God's Word with others. Those who heard him pray often felt as though he was ushering them into the very presence of Jesus. He never met a stranger and was known for warmly embracing others with a hug. His generosity toward his family was evident in both thoughtful gifts and his willingness to meet needs whenever he could.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Judy; his daughter, Charis Jeanette Perry (Mark), and his grandchildren, Aaron-James (Christy) and Jacquelynne Krystyne; and his son, Donn Timothy Heinrich (Pamela) and his grandchildren, Joshua Timothy, Abigail Elise, and Anna Noelle; and others whose lives were impacted by his ministry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Morris County Calvary Bible Chapel, 76 Main Street, Flanders, New Jersey. https://enroll.zellepay.com/qr-codes?data=ewogICJuYW1lIiA6ICJNT1JSSVMgQ09VTlRZIENBTFZBUlkgQklCTEUgQ0hBUEVMIiwKICAiYWN0aW9uIiA6ICJwYXltZW50IiwKICAidG9rZW4iIDogImNiYzc2bWFpbkBnbWFpbC5jb20iCn0=
