Ruby Turner, a beloved and devoted follower of Jesus, mother, and grandmother died on Dec. 27, 2025. Born on Nov. 16, 1939, in Greer, SC, Ruby lived a life that radiated the love of Christ. She was 86 years old.

Never one for hobbies, Ruby’s life was wholly focused on faith and family. She was a lifelong member of Victor United Methodist Church in Greer, SC until its closure in 2024. She cherished her church family and never hesitated to serve in various capacities.

Ruby viewed being a dedicated wife and loving mother and grandmother as her greatest calling. She was a homemaker in every sense of the word and embodied love to her family through selfless service. After all her children were grown, she worked for several years at Lyman Methodist Day Care where she continued to emanate love to children and families.

Ruby was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Katherine Hawkins Carnes; her husband, Horace Calvin Turner, Jr.; and her daughter, Judith Lynn Turner.

Ruby is survived by her children, Rodney Turner (Sheree) of Lyman, Charlotte Painter (Sam) of Greer, Wanda Fowler (Gary) of Inman, and Michael Turner (Heather) of Lexington; grandchildren, Hillary Charles (Ron), Chad Painter (Erin), Brandy Robertson, Brad Turner (Charlie), Jonathan Fowler (Jenna), Micah Lewis (John), Ellie Turner, Drew Turner, Corey Rudisill (Kelly) and Ryan Alley (Kelly). She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren; Abbi Rudisill, Caitlyn Rudisill, Megan Charles Dempsey (Robert), Ethan Charles (Mia), Emma Brooke Alley, Logon Alley, Lila Robertson, Lydia Robertson, Owen Painter, Wyatt Painter, Payton Turner, Wyatt Turner, Jaxon Turner, Kade Fowler, Kennedy Fowler, Charleigh Lewis and Camden Lewis; and three great-great-grandchildren, Mabry Dempsey, Rosey Charles and Coleson Jarrell.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Jan. 3, 2026, at Lyman Methodist Church, officiated by Reverend Erik Grayson. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park, Duncan, SC.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Jan. 3, 2026, at Lyman Methodist Church, 106 Groce Road, Lyman, SC 29365.

Pallbearers will be Chad Painter, Brad Turner, Jonathan Fowler, Drew Turner, Ron Charles, and John Lewis.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the former Victor United Methodist Church.

The family will be at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Sam Painter.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for memorials to be made to Lyman Methodist Church, 106 Groce Road, Lyman, SC 29365, or Agape Care Hospice, 3 Independence Point, Greenville, SC 29615.
