The Greer Heritage Museum is hosting a four-part series called "Stories of Greer" throughout the year to celebrate the city's sesquicentennial. The first event, "The Founding of Greer," will be held at the Historic Greer Depot, which was chosen for its relevance to the town's founding. The events will consist of interviews, video and music components and will be family-friendly. Tickets are free but required for all events for seating purposes.

The Greer Heritage Museum will host an open house on Jan. 3 to kick off Greer's 150th anniversary. The event will feature a ribbon cutting, live music, free popcorn, a photo booth and a new Greer 150 merch store. The first 20 guests will receive free Greer 150 merch, and additional merchandise is available for purchase online. The event will be from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday at the Greer Heritage Museum.

The Greer Heritage Museum announced a new way to support the museum’s archival efforts — the Greer Historical Society. The announcement came at the conclusion of Museum Week. Members monetarily support the museum in exchange for exclusive perks.

The Greer Heritage Museum is celebrating Museum Week from Aug. 23-29 with a range of events. A free History & Donuts event kicks off the week. Throughout the week, several local restaurants will donate a percentage of their sales to the museum, and the week will conclude with a surprise announcement from the museum.
