At this weekend's SCHSL Individual State Wrestling Championships, five Greer-area wrestlers took home state titles.

Eastside standouts senior Hank Lee (175 lbs.), junior Drayton Johnson (120 lbs.), and freshman Bennett Brame (106 lbs.) all claimed state titles for the Eagles. The championships marked all three wrestlers' first-career state titles.

For Byrnes, senior Conner Beaudin (144 lbs, boys) won his fourth-straight state title. Beaudin became just the third wrestler in program history to achieve the feat, following in the footsteps of Rebel legends Chris Compton and David Hunsberger.

Byrnes senior wrestler Cienna Heiselman (115 lbs, girls) also made history, becoming the first female wrestler in Byrnes history to capture a state title. Just last week, she also became the first female Byrnes wrestler to win the Upper State championship.

Several other area wrestlers also medaled in the state championships. Eastside's Sam Wyland and Peyton Schrader both earned third place in their respective weight classes, while Byrnes girls wrestler Leah Rice took home third place, as well.
