The Greer Touchdown Club honored on Thursday their Players of the Week for games played on August 29.Â
The Offensive Player of the Week award went to Jakorey Dodd of Blue Ridge High School. Dodd plays running back and wide receiver for the Tigers. He rushed for 119 yards and three touchdowns to lead Blue Ridge to a 29-22 win over Wade Hampton.
The Defensive Player of the Week award went to Aiden Crump of Blue Ridge. Crump, who plays defensive end, racked up eight tackles, two tackles for loss, and two quarterback pressures in the Blue Ridge win.
The Lineman of the Week award went to MJ Posey of Eastside. Posey is a defensive end for the Eagles who put up eight tackles, four tackles for loss, and four sacks in Eastside’s 62-8 win over Carolina.
The Greer Touchdown Club meets every Thursday during the football season at His Vineyard Church in Greer, and the public is invited. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $16.
This week’s guest speaker was Noah Hannon, former Greer and Appalachian State offensive lineman.
Next Thursday’s guest speaker will be North Greenville Head Football Coach Nate Garner as the Trailblazers prepare to face Delta State at home on September 13.
